After the dust settles

Being a new author you ride the intense high of selling a lot of books during the preorder season but just like seasons, the atmosphere changes. You must be your biggest encourager because no one else has time for it, especially if they are working on things for themselves. But that’s okay because it was your dream to be a published author and not theirs.

When you feel like the dust is settling that means it is time to clean house. The next exciting season will always bring people around but in the “clean house season” you will find out who will endure and put in work on your behalf. These are the people you want to share your wealth and life journey with. I have identified a handful and I am satisfied with who they are. They will be the ones I thank during speeches, the ones I will dedicate things to, and the ones I will honor.

Once the dust is wiped away, you will be able to see things from an unobscured perspective. You will be able to make decisive choices that will lead to purposeful action. For me, I started to dial-in my social media campaign and marketing. For everyone, this moment will be different and personal strategies will develop. So far, I have over 2k followers but my book is still in the initial release phase so I will have to be content with those numbers for now. As an author, I want to bump those numbers up and turn them into sells. So my marketing strategy I developed, after cleaning house, will lead to my ultimate goal as a successful author.

Will you carve out a new path after cleaning house or lose focus because the dust is getting think? I know what my goal is, but I can’t do it alone. Spread the work about Thoughtful Pages and encourage others to read Duane Cooper’s story, Murder Justified. You won’t be disappointed.

Lastly, as a thank you. I have sent out 5 fee Murder Justified coffee mugs to show my appreciation. Thanks and let’s read together.
