Entertainment’s Inception of Perception

The human mind has the propensity to develop thoughts that are similar to the content that it is routinely exposed to; specifically, the mind’s extended exposure to entertainment. Ask yourself, what content do you surrender your mind to on a regular basis and for how long? When the mind is riddled with a particular topic/behavior, over a period of time, this topic becomes what is acceptable and normal. Ultimately, the mind is programed to expect the introduced values and becomes predisposed to expecting these values throughout everyday life.

Unfortunately, much of entertainment encourages selfishness, distain for wholesome relationships, hatred toward being a nurturing stay at home parent, or self-worth by validation (i.e., likes, shares, and comments on social media platforms).

We now live in a world where everyone wants to be everyone BUT themselves.

During a case study, it was found that more and more young adults lack self-confidence because they fail to acquire the lifestyle that is glorified in music and on television. More profoundly discovered, is that the young minds of our society are now seeking approval of the masses on social media as if they have no value apart from what others say about them. Seeking this type of attention and validation is dangerous and toxic to a young developing mind.

With so many mixed messages and confused ideologies, many undeveloped minds that have not been trained to be self-controlled and who do not understand the importance of being their unique self; has led to divorce, suicide ideation, identity crisis, and/or substance abuse. This is an absolute tragedy and practical skills like coping with grief, stress management, and self-development become ignored because these important topics don’t make the list when many plan their day, deciding what deserves their attention.

The inability to manage and filter consumed content has effectively paved the way for behavior modification and self-annihilation. Therefore, Thoughtful Pages has embarked on the mission to combat mass media’s common theme to glorify and encourage immoral values and confusion. We need your help to share our content that will change the way readers think. Come and let us grow together.
